Purported to be from Amazon claiming a purchase had been made for £299 This is yet another scam call, as my landline is not linked to an Amazon account/no purchases are made from this landline number
Pre-recorded message re banking PPI, dial 5 to contact, 9 to avoid more calls from this number, but the 9 does not work as received more calls two and three days later. Absolute pain. Registered with TPS already so how do they obtain my details?

Telemarketing I have just had a call fro 07711 421182 with a far-eastern sounding chap with bad english trying to tell me against a background of lots of other people doing the same thing, that he wanted to "help me with [my] investments". I couldn't make out his explanation of how he got my number but anyone working for a firm that doesn't use landlines is not for me. It wasn't selling he insisted. Of course not. DO NOT ANSWER - Scam call from an Asian call centre, openly admitting to charging a premium rate for connecting your call. They begin the conversation stating they are a government scheme aimed at helping pay back loans etc. I received racial abuse from the caller while trying to get information out of him. Have checked all phone records to see if any charges have come through but none as yet, but am unaware if the included minutes have covered this somehow. BLOCK & REPORT.
