I was out all day dealing with a crisis which meant I went 23 hours before I got to bed. I found this number had called me. Out of courtesy I rang back in the morning, as I had been expecting someone important to call and wondered whether it was the person I wanted it to be. All I got was a recorded message which started off by congratulating me because I had been specially selected and needed to press a button to find out what it was. Quite obviously this was another trap from some criminal organis

Informed me that they could help with my recent RTA. When I said that I haven t had an accident, they said that I must have, cos I had been searching for motor insurance. I explained that I was comparing prices because my motor insurance was due for renewal, they insisted that I had had an accident, and they could help. I had to terminate the call. Who are these people? More to the point, how did they get my mobile number?

If you get a call you should answer or call back as the problem is that the initial database maker sells your number on to other junk call companies. If you have a call from them you should call the number back and ask for James, the call centre manager and demand where they got your number from. Car accident claim scam-mongers, probably a robot, female voice, said a company name so quickly I couldn t catch it. The opening speech was along the lines of I m calling because you were in a car accident that wasn t your fault, is that right? . Said no and put the phone on one side - call ended after 23 seconds, but at least it was at their cost. Am registered with TPS for this mobile, so will report and block.
