Recieved a text called number on the back of my card and verified it was a genuine HSBC number they confirmed and reassured me and they stated that I was wise to check. Good on HSBC they had noted 3 bogus transactions.

They called just now, as soon as I heard pause then background noise with foreign man speaking , likely Indian, saying from BT I hung up. They called back immediately and asked why I hung up as it was a v important call. I said I wasn’t with BT it was a scam and Again I put phone down. What are we to go about these nuisance calls?

I got a 'eBay' code (allegedly) from this number. To those people who are saying this number is genuine, what made them go on to this website? If I get a genuine text, I don't then search that number on the internet and then make a comment on a site that deals with dodgy phone numbers. There are many such comments, which is even more suspicious!

I have been abroad for 2 months and started to receive calls at night in the second week of being away (due to time difference I guess) on average once a week. I have never answered & no message is left. Although the number shows as a regular number on phone call list you can t return the call using the number. On googling area code it shows as Glasgow, & on googling the whole number various sites come up with people recounting similar stories - so I will try to block number / not answer...and would advise

SCAM: caller never left a message when the answerphone kicked in. They put their phone down as soon as it did. Typical of scam callers. If they were genuine they would leave a message. Thank goodness for answerphones.

Called both my landline and my mobile on a Sunday evening. Clearly a Birmingham number. I know the university does fundraising drives amongst alumni but these calls stress not just a nuisance but very intrusive. I understand the Uni says it wants to improve the lot of students but given the vast fees students have to pay that really do not equate to what they are provided with, I think it's a joke, not to say insulting, chasing alumni for money in this devious manner. Recieved Text message on my mobile at 01:36a.m. ! It was described as from NatWest telling me I'd get a call from this no about a Debit Card payments and my card was blocked . I rang the NAT WEST fraud team's number from their web pages and it verified that they had called me on my mobile so it was from them. Then verified several recent transactions I had made.
