a SCAM perpetrated by HMRC? Could not sort Tax code out online and was told to ring another number. Called it and after lengthy process getting into the right Q and waiting 18 minutes was told to ring 08444740101 instead. (charged £12.25 for waiting during that call!). I rang that number and after another 20 minutes listening to Muzak...eventually got someone....30 minutes later for an error HMRC had made I discovered a charge of £17.45. for calling HMRC! This number just called stated that I’ve been in an accident and asked for details of the accident so I hung up and redialed if using with held and a lady answers and asks what I want and I asked why she called me and asked if I was in an accident and she’s said she didn’t call me and I told her if she calls me again I will go to the police and she hung up. Don’t no if it’s a scam or not but really weird plus she was nervous on the phone cuz you would hear it in her voice.

I lady called me saying she had frozen a transaction from going to a offshore account in China. The currency was bitcoin. This was odd as these transactions go to a bit coin wallet then to a debit card that is registered on your account. She did no DPA to verify that I was the account holder. Then she wanted me to download a app I refused so she asked if I have a pc or laptop. I said pc she wanted to screen share. I would do no such things I told her then hug up.
Asking for me by name, although wouldn t give theirs when asked who they represented. They have called previously stating that I had applied for and been refused a loan, lies and manipulation.
