At 1050 30 October 2013 I received a call from a male calling himself "Keith" saying he was from Santander Bank and he wanted to talk to me about my account. He said he wanted to run through some security checks with me at which I said that I was not prepared to give any personal information on a "cold call" because, I told him, I was very suspicious. Yeah these plonkers just called me and asked for mr Ralph, so i passed them to my son. Think they hung up when he said "hi Santa" lol
They called twice in one week. You always know these people. You answer once, twice and then when you are just about ready to hang up they speak. Lots of back ground noise from their colleagues making more nuisance calls to other poor victims and they ask for you by name but need you to confirm it. You either say they have the wrong number and that person isn t known at this number then hang up or, just say that the line is breaking up and you can t hear them. They get bored really quickly and hang up.
Fraud claiming that Amazon are charging me £399 and to press 1 to speak to an advisor. Called the number back and some Cockney girl came onto the answer machine saying leave a message.

AMAZON ‘Julie’ rang my landline and said she was from Amazon Security. An attempt had been made to purchase an iphone using my account at nearly £700. Said it was an emergency that I check my emails while she waited. Said I would phone Amazon Security once I had checked. Caller became more insistent and said we have to block them as an emergency to stop the purchase. Said I would phone my bank to prevent payment. She said bank wouldn’t be able to put a ‘stop’ only Amazon security. Caller hung up.

Will spend over a hour with you on the phone getting you to check your internet security, but while you are doing this they are hacking into your internet and taking all the money from your bank and putting it into a western union account!
