Recieved Text message on my mobile at 01:36a.m. ! It was described as from NatWest telling me I'd get a call from this no about a Debit Card payments and my card was blocked . I rang the NAT WEST fraud team's number from their web pages and it verified that they had called me on my mobile so it was from them. Then verified several recent transactions I had made. I have been abroad for 2 months and started to receive calls at night in the second week of being away (due to time difference I guess) on average once a week. I have never answered & no message is left. Although the number shows as a regular number on phone call list you can t return the call using the number. On googling area code it shows as Glasgow, & on googling the whole number various sites come up with people recounting similar stories - so I will try to block number / not answer...and would advise
I had a phone call of This number on Monday and the lovely lady on the other end of the phone spoke with such great manners, she said I could possibly be entitled to a free pension review and went through the criteria with me to my delight I did, she explained that someone had to come to my house and show me the liscence and legitimate documents, the courier came and was lovely I have realised I was getting over charged and switched my pension provider to some thing a lot cheaper? I got a 'eBay' code (allegedly) from this number. To those people who are saying this number is genuine, what made them go on to this website? If I get a genuine text, I don't then search that number on the internet and then make a comment on a site that deals with dodgy phone numbers. Tries to con you into giving electricity details and the end of contract date so that they can basically fill up their CRM system with leads for future calls. Said that they worked with my supplier but couldnt tell me who it was. They are obviously a telemarketing company who are looking to sell details to electricity suppliers for future sales.
