A scam call from “ Inside Revenue” trying to glean tax information. The foreign sounding man said he could help with claiming the marriage allowance! I told him that as I worked for HMRC anyone who claims the marriage allowance simply has to tick a box on their tax return and there is no need for any interference from a company calling themselves “Inside Revenue”. My advice is give no information and block the number.

I have not. And when I told the man this, he changed the tack and claimed that someone else had given me as as a contact for their own claim. Nonsense.
