This number rang today but hung up part way through the answerphone message. After reading comments here and elsewhere, I rang and asked for our number to be removed from their database. The guy I spoke to was happy to do this and also happy to tell me that the third party from whom they receive numbers is Communications Avenue. Looks like these are the people we should really be shutting down. A quick Googke shows that they re based in Newark.

It seems to be all sorts of scams, according to reports on other sites - bank account overdraft or debts, deliveries, etc. The variety would suggest it s a prank caller.

Cold call asking if I'd had an accident in the last 3 years. Didn't even have the correct name for me and hung up when I asked to be removed from their database.

Bunch of scammers. They claim to be different debt collection companies, from different numbers. Been going on for years. You pick up, the automated call kicks in, leaving a message for someone who doesn t exist. In my case, they are always asking for someone called Mr Paul Roberts. A woman rang saying home insurance scam

Genuine O2 upgrade call. Called three times per day for a whole week after me telling them each and every time that I wasn t interested.

Said they were from The Tech Co, tried to gain access to my PC saying they needed to fix errors. When challenged the caller was aggressive.
