I had 16 phone calls from this number (Clinic Compare, part of lasik-eyes) over the space of 5 days asking for me by name because I made an inquiry into laser eye surgery online. They are a waste of time as they want your details to match you with a laser eye clinic. As soon as I said I d already made appointments with other companies she virtually put the phone down on me.

They had the cheek to call me again - when I was busy of course - with their wretched recorded message saying it was not too late. I think they can be prosecuted for this harassment and dishonesty, pretending people have claims when they know nothing about whether they have or not, and be heavily fined. If they are, perhaps others will not follow their example. I do not worry for myself, but people who fall for their smooth talking. They called twice in one week. You always know these people. You answer once, twice and then when you are just about ready to hang up they speak. Lots of back ground noise from their colleagues making more nuisance calls to other poor victims and they ask for you by name but need you to confirm it. You either say they have the wrong number and that person isn t known at this number then hang up or, just say that the line is breaking up and you can t hear them. They get bored really quickly and hang up.

No message left on answerphone

Scammers - clearly baffled by voicemail and left half a message saying "car accident that wasn t your fault, is that right?"

Caller said he was from Microsoft. Said that my PC had been compromised by hackers. After leading him on for a while I asked him straight if he was after money. He said that he was trying to help but then threatened to lock up my computer. I hung up.

This number is the third of three different numbers that has called in the past few days pretending to be from Microsoft. They try to get into your PC. Beware.

Called to tell me that my computer was running slow and offered to take control of my laptop to show me how to cure the problem. I kept pestering HER with various questions in the middle of her "spill" eventually she hang up. Anyone reading this NEVER let anyone take control of your computer from a "cold" telephone call....

Been calling 3 - 4 times a day for a couple of months, answered today. told me I had entered a competition asked for my DOB, address, I refused. Then told me I could have much better chance of winning the EuroMillions if I signed up. I said I don t gamble after extended discussion she went so far as to say that it was almost guaranteed

Rang up today asking me to answer a questionnaire on whether I was eligible for a free sofa. I politely declined as I already have a perfectly decent sofa!

This number rang three times today and a missed call from previous. No message left on missed call and when I answered the others there was a noise in the background like an office and then cut off.

They are an Indian call centre who use spoof caller ID numbers. Do not trust them! Block them with a call blocker (you may need to block VOIP calls)or answer the call something like this: "This is the FBI - we have you surrounded! Come out with your hands up! All units - GO! GO! GO!" That should make them hang up!
