Telemarketing I have just had a call fro 07711 421182 with a far-eastern sounding chap with bad english trying to tell me against a background of lots of other people doing the same thing, that he wanted to "help me with [my] investments". I received so many calls from this number until I decided to block it. They called and nobody spoke! I know nobody who comes from Liverpool so I suppose it is a scam.

According to UoB website this number shouldn't be calling for student fundraising so this is likely a scam. "Our Student Fundraisers will call you from 0121 678 1000, but please note that this number is outgoing only. If you receive a call from a Student Fundraiser, they will be able to send you a verification email while you are on the phone to them. This email will come from [email protected] – a University domain email account."

Are based in Scotland with no known office in 01305 exchange area. Have calls from Scotland re-routed through local exchange numbers in order to persuade people to answer a local number. If you call it back, then the call is again re-routed back to their Scotland office. Not sure if this is an illegal practice under telephony legislation, but would be interested if anyone can come up with the legislation about having calls re-routed to give the answering CLI the impression that the call is local.
Text message from this number saying there was a suspicious log in on my PayPal account from a month ago. Gave me a random website, which was not PayPal, that I had to go to immediately to reset my account. Deleted the text and blocked the number

A man asking for semi permanent make-up, would not give me his address for me to send him a patch test! Then wanted to book a whole day with me for a full works of pampering! The semi permanent make-up, and hair cut but then went on to say he wanted his hair coloured and teeth whitening! His messages were weird so I googled his number to find other complaints about him!
