Microsoft ringing me about my computer. A scam..... when I asked them to cut to the chase and describe to me what was the exact scam they were trying to drop on me, they rang off. Strange....LOL

Harringtons advisory ltd. This company is trying to say that they are being cloned and that it is not them. They are getting staff to post good comments about themselves. Don t believe it.it s them alright. Least they are now under investigation.

Hal s reply is spot on. If someone sends a text message to your landline and you don t pick up the phone it gets stored for you to retrieve later. This 0795 number is where you collect the message, plus the number of the mobile phone that sent the text. It s not dangerous. All depends on what the text message says, of course - that could be anything. In my case it was someone texting to say Sorry I Missed Your Call. See? Not dangerous.

Fairly well spoken Man claiming I had just called him from my number. Repeatedly asked me for my name when I kept telling him that I hadn’t called him he kept asking me who he was speaking to! Told him I wouldn’t give him my name as he had called me and not the other way round. He went way in the end. Not sure if it was a genuine mistake on his part but I’d certainly not called anyone snd double checked my phone, but he was determined to try and get my name.

I believe it is someone who called the wrong number. I got a caller on my mobile. I have my number for more than 10 years. I think she misdialled from her phone. She asked for Gemma. I just said there is no Gemma and she got the wrong number. I can't say if this is a trick or not.

This number sent me an unsolicited text with an attachment described as a picture for me. Clearly a scam/virus/phishing. Deleted without opening, beware!!

Caller asked for someone else who lives in the house by name - after teh ususal telemarketing pause of silence..... When I explained they were not in and asked if I could take a message, the caller sounded annoyed that the person he called for was not in, and then HE HUNG UP. . Cold caller? Telemarketer? Rude - yes!

They called up asking if I had recently been involved in a car crash. It sounded similar to that scam that makes you say yes and then uses your recording to claim that you agreed to some contract or scam your credit card or something. They said the name very quickly at the beginning of the call. They quickly said that they will take my number off of their database and then they hung up. They hung up without speaking a few seconds after I answered. I suspect an insurance scam after reading comments on here coupled with an attempted fraud on my insurance a few years ago. They are based in Manchester where my broker is and I live in the south. Draw your own conclusions.
