I made online enquiries about a boiler plan which appears to have sent my number onto various companies - this one included as saying it is E-On calling about that that enquiry. I suspect it s a general telemarketing call centre instructed by various companies to tout business. They keep calling. I ve just blocked the number.

I did not reach the phone before my machine kicked in but as soon as my message started the phone call was ended. I do not know anyone in this area but I do know that the scammers are now able to link on to UK landlines to fool you into thinking it is from a UK number. Yesterday I had a similar call from a number about 15 miles from home but when I picked it up there was the usual call centre pause. When I tried ringing back there was no reply.

This number, 01223660041, rang my mobile and I declined the call. Then I immediately received a missed call text from a different number, 01515249700. I called both back yo see who had called and both had the same identical message, sounding like "thanks for calling fresh contacts. Please wait for next agent" at which point I terminated my call.

Claims to be calling from the rewards department from an EE call centre in India. Was told I can not call back as their line is only outbound and no web to browse their offers or phones? I was a little suspicions as if they where from EE they would of known not to start selling until my contact was up for renewal in 8months time.
