SCAM!!!!! automated message from an advised Fraud Investigation officer advising of an active court case. Called the number and gave name only to be provided with detailed information that I have defrauded HMRC DO NOT PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION - -END CALL and confirm any issues with HMRC directly
This number caller purports to be from BT. The caller tried to persuade me that a) they were from BT and b) that cyber-hackers were piggy-backing my internet connection to download illicit material without having to reveal who they are. I questioned them e.g. saying 'why should they need to use my line?' since it's so easy to download stuff anonymously from anywhere in most countries around the world. I never answer 0845 calls because they are always scammers or nuisance callers. Just don t answer them as in time (yes I know it s annoying...) they will get bored (you get de-listed) and stop calling - Moving on to the next poor unfortunate !

Exactly the same as previous comment but it was Sean Johnston that called first and then when I expressed concern he asked if I would like to speak to a more senior person. He repeated word for word what Sean had said and wanted me to log in to a laptop. I cut the call and heard no more. I have concern that a more vulnerable person may be sucked into this so please spread the word.

I was called by this number this morning. They told me they were calling regarding my licence from MICROSOFT being lapsed. They told me they would be able to renew my licence and could show me how to remove hackers from my laptop. I allowed these people access to my laptop thinking I was removing the hackers and viruses from the laptop. They gained access to my files and I have had money removed from my bank account (now closed).
