Household appliance insurance. Said mine was being changed to cheaper company and then started to ask my bank details. Knew my name and address. Kept quoting some key number of something similar which meant nothing to me. Confident London female voice. When I said I d have to ring back got defensive and said would ring me. Called our TPS registered number. When informed of this said they weren t members of that scheme. I just ended the call. My gut feeling is that it s some type of scam.

Just received a call from this number, a female with an American accent, who wanted to ask a few questions (a survey, not selling anything). Asked where she got my number (we are with TPS) and she said BT. I explained there s no way BT would give out (or sell) a number registered with TPS. I explained it s illegal to coldcall TPS-registered numbers. I asked if she was calling from the US, she said no, it s a UK company but the call is being made from an offshore address. I said goodbye.

I keep getting calls from this number and 01269 849011. I don't know if they are connected but I must have had a dozen calls from both these numbers in the last 24 hours. I...

so far these scammers have phoned me 4 days in a row, 6 on day 1, 3 times day 2, twice yesterday and so far twice today.. When they actually do speak or you hear something.. its either a recording telling you your about to be disconnected from BT and press 1 to connect to bt.. premium rate number.. or you get a indian claiming to be from bt, or they just keep saying hello before putting the phone down.
