Alledged call from Amazon saying my prime was due for automatic renewal and they would be taking out £39.99 from my account and to press 1 if I wish to cancel the subscription. I am a Amazon prime member but know the membership is not £39.99. I hung up without pressing any number. I believe this to be a scam.
"James Anderson from HMRC" (man with a foreign accent, sounded like he was from the Indian subcontinent) called me saying the HMRC were investigating me for tax avoidance; they were going to move to court proceedings unless I phoned them back on a specific number. He repeated his details and the phone number and then hung up.
