Supposedly I have a security breach. Local number but not my bank
I was called this morning from this number and missed the call but as it appeared a local number I tried to call back later. I tried it twice. The first time after ringing for a while it cut out with a long, high pitched tone. The second time after a while a kind of low pitched, rhythmic beeping started (not the normal engaged signal, I don't remember hearing it on a phone before). I am marking it dangerous because it seems likely the number is faked/purchased and modelled on my own to look like a loca

SCAM!!!!! Says it's a bank alert but doesn't say which bank so I hang up straight away. they call 2 to 3 times a week. Checked with my bank and it wasn't them.

Do Not give any details to people like this and please dont say yes in any way shape or form as alot of these scammers record your conversation and can use your voice to signup for stuff without you knowing about it untill a bailiff comes a knocking

The Phone rang and caller (a computer) hung up when I didn't speak! These are computer generated calls sniffing out voice lines. If you answered "hello" or anything else, then the line will be logged as 'a VOICE LINE' and you'll be called back later by some con-artist! If your phone rings and you don't recognize the number calling you, DON'T SPEAK! JUST LISTEN! If you don't hear anything & the line goes dead then you've just successfully escaped being scammed!
Claims to be BT openreach technical department. couldn't confirm account holder name. wanted me to use laptop or computer to check speeds. Told him I had done that already this morning and was quite happy with it but he was insisting I tried it on my computer or laptop. I was apparently overpaying for the speed i was getting and should be refunded.?!?!? hung up at that point, I couldn't be bothered listening anymore.
