called my unlisted WORK mobile, claiming that I had unpaid PPI. I do not have a work bank account, so not working from a database for that info. Not sure how they got this number.
I paid the company money. I spoke to a lady named Amanda and am now dealing with a chap called Paul. He now says he is getting a director to call me. First job was cancelled the afternoon of the date ... I will not give up as they are under many guises. Sadly I believe there are decent and proper companies out there however these evil deceitful people have tarnished the industry.

The following steps are suggested:
Automated PPI garbage - do not press any keys to opt in or out as it looks like a scam and could cost you money. Calling the number back gives dead response. Reported via ICO
had a call from a "mobile number" 2 hours ago about my Amazon account. Spoof number, I told the guy to bugger of with his scam message.
