They call then leave an automated voicemail to say that they are fromHMRC and that you are being investigated for gains on your self assessments and that you have been earning more or working another job and they want payment. They have your name home and mobile details already somehow. Beware.

They called also using a mobile number to tell me I had overpaid on a direct debit. They were after my bank account details so they could give me a refund. Very scary! Also they were English and spoke confidentially just like market researchers first time young female second time authoritarian man who said he would remove me from his records but I keep getting calls
