A male called saying his name was Chris and that he was calling about my Dyson. I told him he must have a wrong number. He then said "Do you not have a Dyson". When told "No", he apologised and rang off. I assume a marketing scam of some kind.

This is a market research company. This is how market research is done. In the call I took, the company were canvassing opinion for the HSE, this is important work. If you ignore their call they will presume that you are not available and call back again. If you don't want to take the call, just tell the caller that you are not interested in taking part in the survey. They won't call you back. They call me from this numba and at least 4 other numbers but for the same company, I continualy ask for them to take me off their calling list/database etc... they then reply sure no problem then 1 or 2 days later they call again from yet another number...! you would think they d get the message eh..?
