Apparently they make money on you making a return call...don't ask me how but it sort of makes sense because everyone seems to have the same response.

Called to offer me a better rate on my mortgage. I don t have a mortgage and they asked if I wanted my details removed, I said yes and was told this could take 1 business day. 23 hours later I received another call, I ve since had a call yesterday and today. Next time they call I m going to get the full company name and complain to the ICO.

Nuisance - persistent! Number blocked

Another scammer it seems. No message left.

We run a small business and received a call from this number ( we have caller ID ). Said his name was Michael Stevens from the regional grime prevention unit and would we be interested in being the only company in our category to advertise in the new crime prevention magazine for the area It will be handed out to all the local houses, probably 50000 copies. We would be the only ones listed because we are a trusted trader in the area. I asked if it would be possible to call him back at a later date. No he sa

called at 1pm, a man said hello and then laughed down the phone before the line went silent. I put the phone down.

This phone number (01202137375) is from a representative (called Chris) of HomeLogic, a company that sells and installs LogicFoam loft insulation. It is quite safe and is not a scam. It's a cold call that tries to persuade you to install this type of loft insulation i.e. spray foam. The caller said that it's part of a Government initiative to supply every home in Britain with this type of insulation. However, I don't believe this - I suspect that this is just salesman's patter.

If you receive a cold call from an organisation you don t know, just take as many details as you can, even if it s just the number and time of call and report it the Information Commissioner s Office (ICO) via this link https://ico.org.uk/concerns/ If enough people do this these companies will be fined - sometime pushing them out of business - and we can all enjoy owning a private phone again.
