SCAM I have this afternoon received a telephone call purporting to be National Grid Meter Department and confirming a date and time to change meter as they said it was over charging. Suggested a refund available since last year of £652.23 Offered a booking slot and advised the new meter number as E14UP04L89. Call received 14.30 on 17/4/2023. Recorded message purporting to come from a bank fraud prevention team (no bank named) alleging that two suspicious requests had been received for payments from "your account" (no account details given). No evidence of unexpected activity in my accounts. SPAM.

Lady with English accent saying she was an energy advisor for my area, calling from an "energy hub" (whatetever that might be). When I managed to stop her (clearly reading from a script) I aksed her precisely what organisation she was calling from. She went silent and hung up.

Was rung by this number - automatic voice message regarding my supposed visa account having no money in it, £95 aparantly taken. Cut off the call. Checked banking - no such issue. Scam call. Hard as its a local number so elderly when seeing number would possibly assume local bank.
