Line was quiet initially, and then a male voice stated where he was calling from (though he said it so fast, no one would have a chance in understanding where he was calling from). He then went on to say "you recent life insurance claim has been refused". I believe they re trying to find numbers which are "live" so they can sell them on to telemarketers and other unscrupulous types. Grotty little businesses. The best way of doing that is calling and then seeing which phones get answered. If a phone is answered then it must be "live" so they hang up and that number is sold on to a 3rd party. Then if you own the number and you answered you get even more nuisance calls.
