SCAM. The full number is 0049 3549 72863, which suggests it is from Germany, though the man on the phone had an Indian accent. He claimed to be from 'Sky's Technical Department' and he'd had a report that my internet was running slow. Which was strange, because I hadn't reported any such fault and my internet is working fine/ So I strongly suspected it wasn't a genuine call from Sky and hung up.

They are based on wharf industrial estate in bury, Manchester and Blackburn. The staff who call have no idea, nor choice of who they ring as the system selects a number at random from their data, and only when the line opens do they see your name and address etc. They are legitimate in terms of what they are offering (a free hearing frequency test at your local football club/hotel) however, if you will receive any money should a claim be successful is questionable. Silent call received from 07943011564: I received a call from this number just now. I didn't answer and within seconds, the caller hung up. It could have been a scam or a nuisance caller, I'm not sure, but it's the second of these that I've received today. Phoned the number back and the 'phone is switched off.

Government ‘type’ Recorded message. Caller was a man and speaking in a very English urgent alarming voice. Informing me of multiple fraudulent use of my National Insurance number ant that unless I pressed option 1 now proceedings could be taken against me also with cancelling my access to my accounts etc.. or something along those lines. Luckily I took the call on my iPad so wasn’t able to press option 1. Which is just as well as I tried to thinking it was genuine at the time. It would frighten many.

SPAM. Nigel Frank recruitment these folk call your mobile usually during work meeting times (9-10) and think it's acceptable to keep your phone ringing for 30sec. Knowing you've probably muted the call with the intention of putting your phone to silent when they eventually abandon the call they'll immediately radial so you cant do this, to annoy you again, which is a bit controlling. Despite telling them you've started a new job, they continue to pester you every month.
