I tried to book a room at The Principal Oxford Spires Hotel, Abingdon Road, OX1 4PS, Oxford and called a number 08448542910 indicated on their website. I had to call twice as there was an automated telephone service and no one was able to answer my phone calls. Last month I saw a charge of 1.38 GBP plus VAT on my phone bill!! What a wrong way to make money!! Looks like the hotel is doing that badly so they have to charge potential customers to simply book a room. According to the reviews on the above number

Asked how he knew that, told me it is in his database, I asked what details he had about me and my property in his database and to treat that question as a GDPR request with 28 days to comply before I report this to the Government Information Commissioner. Called a couple of times. Said he was calling from the technical depth at TalkTalk about my internet connection. Didn't believe him and put the phone down.

On answering refused to provide company name and address, was also decline employees name. Then the phone was put down by the firm that called on me. I only sourced this number due to some detective work. Avoid this company. Disrepectful scum
