DO NOT ANSWER - Scam call from an Asian call centre, openly admitting to charging a premium rate for connecting your call. They begin the conversation stating they are a government scheme aimed at helping pay back loans etc. I received racial abuse from the caller while trying to get information out of him. Have checked all phone records to see if any charges have come through but none as yet, but am unaware if the included minutes have covered this somehow. BLOCK & REPORT.

Amazon scam. Recorded message tells me I have ordered an Apple Ipad through Amazon and to press 1 if I want to cancel so I did as I like to string them along. All I got was a repeat of the message. What a strange scam if they don't even have the opportunity to get any information!

Same as above called saying someone had tried to hack computer - vibe felt really wrong asked for computer details. I didn t progress any further with call.

It was a Northumbria Water call alert about a leak in the area. A visit to the website confirmed that there was a local problem. (Why can't these companies publish the numbers they use to make calls?)

"Looks like a premium rate number" Sorry, but you re mistaken. 01, 02, 03 are all classed as national rate calls (apart from Channel Islands, Isle of Man) and 03xxx are business numbers. 0845 and 0870 numbers very widely being changed to 0345 and 0370 numbers so they are included in most calls packages (including from mobiles). Only 1899.com and 18185 (cheap call services when dialling using those prefixes before a number) are not including 03x
