Cold calling in regard to accident management claims, they are taking numbers off of gumtree ads so if you’re selling a car for instance and your number is on there they’ll call, I’m on the TPS no cold call register but still this nonsense.

Sadly this IS British gas I phoned them and they admitted that yes they do make presumptive appointments for smart meter installs with the onus on the customer to cancel them The appointment was also on my British Gas online account There is currently NO obligation to have smart meters installed Sadly you cant cancel the appointment online you have to phone them Ive not cancelled yet but put my details in an online complaint and instructed them to cancel it If need be Ill make the call before the appointmen

I couldn't find any info for this specific number, but as I can see people do search for this number on different similar pages, and there are more similar numbers reported (016181491xx - just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume all the numbers belong to the same call centre. Have had three or four recorded messages from this no. Rather worrying but glad to realise it is a scam. I was asked for my N.I. number in an aggressive manner so I put the phone down.
I got this number from the booking office in Waverley Station in Edinburgh in order to cancel A Virgin train ticket. Called the number and got an Indian lady who just kept saying "hello". To me this sounds like a money-making scam and I am so frustrated!
