I bought a new phone at the week-end - a BT8500 Advanced call blocker - only set it up last night and although my phone hasn t rung, I saw there had been two calls blocked. I did not know I was being charged extra, I don’t even know why I started to receive text from this 88222 number. My monthly phone bill is normally £45 per month unlimited talk and text and 4gb data. Last month my bill was slightly higher, this month my bill went to £89 pounds all because I was receiving messages from the number 88222. I had to send STOP to prevent further higher bills.

Identified themselves as First Response and told me they had my details and I'd apparently had an accident in my car in the last two and a half years. Incorrect - so probably chancing their arm. They're making the same calls from another 0141 number too.

Got a call from this number today but didnt answer it. Googled it but no records. Called it back on a spare phone and got "Number Not Recognised" message. So it looks like a scam of some kind, designed to make it look like a number from Derby. I'd say "Dangerous" until proved otherwise.
