Aggressive Indian call centre. Have called every day for a week so far. I ve given up asking to be removed from their caller list. Now hang up as soon as they identify themselves. Our elec contract expires in 6 months, so I m expecting about another 100 calls. Can t block as landline and we are TPS registered :(

This number called me today - I tried to answer but they just hung up. Another waste of my time.

I believe it is someone who called the wrong number. I got a caller on my mobile. I have my number for more than 10 years. I think she misdialled from her phone. She asked for Gemma. I just said there is no Gemma and she got the wrong number. I can't say if this is a trick or not.

hate this type of call where no-one is on the end of the phone when answered.

When you answer your phone and if it s a number you don t recognise, DON T SPEAK JUST LISTEN! Wait for the caller to speak first and then decide whether to simply put the phone down. If it s a recorded message, it ll nearly always be a scam or a computer dialling a batch of numbers in sequence and trying to assertain if the number they have just dialled is a voice line. i.e. a private phone number. They called up asking if I had recently been involved in a car crash. It sounded similar to that scam that makes you say yes and then uses your recording to claim that you agreed to some contract or scam your credit card or something.
