Claimed to be from my bank and asked for clearance for a payment I had supposedly made for nearly £1000.

man says he received a missed call from me , not true. Second call in two days saying the same thing but from a different number.

SCAM Unusually, this was actually an English person on the other end of the phone rather than a call centre setting from India etc! The number rang my works mobile at 10:05 09/05/2023. The person on the other end spoke very well and professional, saying that they were calling from HSBC, and were making me aware of activity in my account that looked suspicious, that money was being taken out by an advertising firm. SCAM - DO NOT RESPOND This was a recorded message saying two potentially unauthorised payments had been made on my card - one of £300 and an international payment of £1,000 - followed by the option of approving the payments or speaking to someone about them. This sounded like a scam ( there was no mention of which bank the call was from), and so it turned out to be when I checked with the bank.

4 SCAM Banking Automated call Saying there is unusual charges to your card ie: overseas money transfer and it asks you to press 1 to confirm you want the payment to go through.

Called saying from 02 on a very bad line offering loyalty discount. Said I wasn’t interested so he hung up and then got a security text from o2 with a one time code on it saying if someone has called me, they don’t work for o2 and to hang up the phone
