I received a call from this number claiming to be calling from a company (don t remember the name of the company) and is calling in relation to an enquiry that I had made online and asked me to confirm DOB and my address for security purposes. I asked what was the enquiry in relation to? He refused to answer and asked for me to confirm my details first. I refused to disclose such details and said I wont be confirming anything until im told what was the enquiry in relation to. He began saying, it was an

Automated voice said "This is Her Majesty's Customs and Revenue". I hung up reckoning it was a scam with the robotic posh voice. Also, its known as Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs for a start! Anyway, beware and best avoid.

I had 16 phone calls from this number (Clinic Compare, part of lasik-eyes) over the space of 5 days asking for me by name because I made an inquiry into laser eye surgery online. They are a waste of time as they want your details to match you with a laser eye clinic. As soon as I said I d already made appointments with other companies she virtually put the phone down on me.

Claimed to be paid by Microsoft, insisted I switch on my computer which supposedly had a virus. Resisted and argued when challenged, became abusive and continued to try to persuade me (but failed). They called twice in one week. You always know these people. You answer once, twice and then when you are just about ready to hang up they speak. Lots of back ground noise from their colleagues making more nuisance calls to other poor victims and they ask for you by name but need you to confirm it. You either say they have the wrong number and that person isn t known at this number then hang up or, just say that the line is breaking up and you can t hear them. They get bored really quickly and hang up.
