He then asked for my surname at which i refused as i didn t feel comfortable confirming with an unknown party. He then asked if another member of staff still worked there. The guy was pleasant enough but is certainly a telemarketer

Scammer automated message supposedly from Linda White at HMRC threating legal action for unpaid tax. The thing to remember is that HMRC always send letters out with your NI number/tax reference on and would never call you in this way first.

These "boiler replacement" scams are now well-established. NEVER give ANY information to an unknown caller, no matter how convincing they sound.

A lady with an English accent informed my that there has been a report identifying loft insulation materials as hazardous, and that everybody is entitled to a free survey. I explained that my property didn't fit her survey expectations and he apologised for bothering me and hung up. As a guess, anyone who opts for a survey will be told that any existing insulation is deadly and it will be removed at an exorbitant cost, but as I don't know that for certain I am only labelling this call as annoying.
