I made payment to these people too, for advertising in an upcoming event brochure of almost ?230, (I stupidly paid twice, as they rang back the next day and said the payment hadn t gone through, I did actually check with my bank, and there was nothing showing as having gone through the day before, but it did appear within a few days]. Vanquis Bank are sneaky and use lots of different telephone numbers to trick you into answering. For your convenience, I have listed many of the telephone numbers that they use below. If you answer calls from these numbers you may be charged for Debt Management so buy a BT8500 and stop all of these calls easily. I pressed one and told a man with an South East Asian accent that HMRC HQ is in London, not Bradford which he obviously didn't like because he hung up.

Claimed to be hmrc with a fraud claim on me
Automated voice delivered initial message re: an accident I may have had in the last 3 years. When the message was delivered I was then asked to confirm I had been in an accident. I hung up and blocked the call at this point.
An Indian person called claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse asking for an upgrade even tho I never signed up from them in the first place! Be careful from imposters as scammers from India will bounce their phone numbers to a UK number making you think it's a legitimate number.

Hello, this number calls me on average 5 times a week. anyone with an iphone know how to block a number? when i answer they promise not to call again but they do so i ve taken to ignoring their call!!!
