No valid reason to ring me. Wrong number, or malicious intent? Didn't pick up, as number unknown thus unsolicited (and I'm registered with TPS)

SCAM - It's a New Zealand number impersonating the Inland Revenue Department,(IRD) from most likely India. (Indian man). They first ring your number (in my case my cell phone number) and then hang up. Most people ring back. It goes to an answer phone where they impersonate the IRD with a typical company information etc. This fools you into thinking it might be at least slightly genuine and may catch you off-guard. I rang back again and spoke with Indian man who starts his fraudulent dialogue.
Indian male claiming to be Graham [ffs] from Global University Systems. If you ve got an iPhone, after ending the call, block the caller by clicking on i after the number in your call list. Block is at the foot of the i page.

When I answered a woman knew my name and asked to speak to me. She said she is from a company that offers discounts, and told me I had applied online. I said no I haven t, and her actually words to me were of course you have Those were her words! Of course I have! Urmmm, no I haven t, and don t tell me what I have done when I clearly know I haven t! She was a very rude and aggressive sounding woman. Obviously trying to get people to hand over account details! Definitely avoid!
