Recorded message saying 'number not recognised' when I rang it back.
SCAM / SPAM rang me on house phone and automated message said it was my broadband provider (name not specified) and that they were going to cut it off due to illegal use. it went on to say press 1 to speak to someone.... blah blah blah, I hung up but did not ring my broadband provider from my house phone. by the way WHO CALLED ME I have no idea what automat and paid number is as an option to choose for type of call.. maybe you could explain?

I was visiting my very old uncle when these people called and I pretended to be my uncle. They said that Age Concern had selected them to contact people with mobility problems, and asked if I was sleeping well. They suggested that replacing the mattress would help with mobility problems, and said that they had quality orthopedic mattresses on special offer starting at £1500. Just received an automated female voice call to say I was defrauding HMRC giving a presumably bogus number of the details of the HMRC investigation and advising me to press 1 to take it further. I didn't bother to press 1.
IS THERE ANY POINT IN REPORTING THESE CALLS IF NOTHING IS DONE ABOUT THEM THEY STILL CONTINUE TO PHONE .

AMAZON. The usual one about Amazon Prime. Your acct will be auto renewed for £79+. I don't have it so it can't. Get these scam calls all the time. They want you to press "1" so gawd knows what that does - link you into an expensive Ling Distance call or something. Someone is determined to get money from you, I don't fully understand how but they wouldn't be in this for nothing! I fail to understand why the police or BT can't DO something about it!!!
