The companies don’t "get" your number, they just block-dial numbers until they get a ring tone so TPS and ex-directory numbers do not offer any protection.

In answer to your question, Mike - because the lowlifes that initiate spam/scam calls do so without much regard for convention, and as they use VoIP phones, it is easy for them ...

Don't know who this is but they rang this morning and when I answered they didn't say anything and finally hung up !!!!

Just took a call from someone with the slick / patronising (USA Accented)introduction of "How are you today sir ...blah blah" who I cut off midflow as soon as the word...

Message saying £799 about to be taken from my non-existent amazon Prime account - and that I should urgently press button 1 so they can investigate this transaction.

FRAUD SCAM Recorded message claiming that my internet service would be disconnected due to my (unnamed) ISP detecting 'illegal' activity from my connection and inviting me to press 1 to connect to an 'executive'.

I didn't answer this call because an automated voice claims to be from BT and that there is a problem with the Internet and to press 1. Never answer future calls from this...

PPI company. I asked them to stop calling me. The caller proceeded to argue with me as she said that she has never called me before. I have reported to information commissioner.

Said he was from BT MANAGEMENT AFTER COMPLAINT I made, phoned 18:46hrs not normal hours. Gave me this number as Engineeers for BT BROADBAND,?
