My brother got a call from this number asking for a gas meter reading. He was not sure where the caller was from but a 1471 and internet search brought up this number as belonging to British Gas. However I am not with British Gas but with Southern Electric, for at least the last 6 years. I called Southern Electric who said they did not call for any reading and would not do so. Automated voice stating they where calling from HMRC and that there was a fraudulent case against me and if I did not press 1 immediately then a warrant would be issued and I would be arrested. Firstly HMRC will never call you and secondly I am still waiting for the police to show up at my door and arrest me for nothing. Utter nonsense. Don't be fooled by these calls people.

They sent a message asking to call them urgently, when I called them they refused to say what there company did unless I gave them my details, they said they had sent emails and letters, which I havent recived. Obviously I refused to give them any details what so ever and would advise you to do the same

I was called today 3 times and the caller said that they are a company to help get red off your debt. I told them no thank you and blocked their number.
Called my aging father and said they were calling about an existing insurance policy for kitchen appliances.. one that we had and it needed renewed. He holds another policy with a well known company and it wasn't them. They were insistent that he had to renew it and he eventually hung up on them.
Rang up and informed me that I d recently had a banjo accident, I asked how they knew and they hung up straight away. Don t trust.
