When you answer your phone and if it s a number you don t recognise, DON T SPEAK JUST LISTEN! Wait for the caller to speak first and then decide whether to simply put the phone down. If it s a recorded message, it ll nearly always be a scam or a computer dialling a batch of numbers in sequence and trying to assertain if the number they have just dialled is a voice line. i.e. a private phone number. Got a call on 26 May at 12:03, no one on the other side, just hung up. Got a phone call from another unknown number same day from same area (01743562667). Again no one on the other side. Very annoying! I suspect it might be someone trying to scam vulnerable people during coronavirus.

I have at least 10 missed calls from this number per week

They hung up without speaking a few seconds after I answered. I suspect an insurance scam after reading comments on here coupled with an attempted fraud on my insurance a few years ago. They are based in Manchester where my broker is and I live in the south. Draw your own conclusions.

Called with same explanation as Jim re a holiday I haven t had in last two years.
