Unwanted call- probably phishing

Called but left no message in response to my "this number blocks withheld and unrecognised numbers" message, but it is clear from the numerous other reports that it is a standard Indian "Your commputer is infected" criminal fraudster. What surprises me is that many people do not seem to realise that the number displayed is spoofed and that the call actually comes from an Indian criminals call centre. Was the usual boilers on benefits call. I engaged for a short time, he asked about anyone being on benefits/pension credits etc. and what type of heating I have. Recorded message saying they were returning my call request and to press 1 if I was available to take the call. I hung up as I ve made no such request because I don t have any dealings with them.
