My brother got a call from this number asking for a gas meter reading. He was not sure where the caller was from but a 1471 and internet search brought up this number as belonging to British Gas. However I am not with British Gas but with Southern Electric, for at least the last 6 years. I called Southern Electric who said they did not call for any reading and would not do so. My phone filters all calls through call blocker where they have to announce who they before we accept or other actions. This number just hung up even before the screening process so highly suspicious.

Tried calling every day this week so far! Not answered but getting annoyed, have now blocked.
