Man called - said his name was Sean Cruz - said he was from the Citizens Advice - got my details from the Office of Fair Trading. Said his address was 24 Lancashire!! I pressed him more, said his address was 24 Heather Ave, Lancashire, 208 001 Tried to get details out of me, I would not confirm anything. Told him I was registered with TPS and he should not be calling. He told me he s been getting away with these calls for years and TPS were useless. Call from Horizon Travel, apparently responding to a request I'd made to their website (I hadn't). Offering free accommodation for 2 nights, but need to pay for breakfast. Will send out brochure so I can choose location and date. Only catch, need to pay in advance "can we have your card details please?" SCAM SCAM SCAM
Silent call, which then disconnected. On trying to call it back - the number rang once, then went to the unobtainable signal.
I believe this to be a nuisance call, My advise to others is If you have a answer machine leave a outgoing message to incoming callers saying that if this is a telemarketer or any unknown caller ringing, that this call is classed as harassment and an invasion of your privacy and that you will ignore their call". I monitor all my calls and if I don t recognize the number I just let the answer machine takeover, they never leave a message and since I have been doing this my unwanted calls have started to cease
