Just to confirm, after my previous post I reported this number to the police, who said it definitely is a scam, and that Microsoft would never call you about this sort of thing. These people will generally want remote access to your computer to "fix a virus" or something like that. They show you some files that they know every computer has and tell you they re harmful, which is completely untrue. They then use the remote access to steal from you. He was screaming down the phone at me telling me how rude I was and calling me all the names under the sun just because I told him that I don t have time to take a sales call and could he please email any info he has through for me to look at!
