Claimed to be from carphone warehouse, as soon as I went to speak they hung up. A quick google shows the number is linked to an unrelated government contract which is concerning. I suspect they were phoning only to see if I would answer.
Got a missed call from this number today, thought it may be a friend in the UK but when i rang back it said it was out of service. Anyone know how this is possible? And what is it all about?

TAXES / HMRC Asked for me by name, introduced as Refund my taxes or something like that, then said it was in relation to my marriage allowance refund. I replied I am not married to which the response was "oh, you are no longer married?". I have had a call from this number on my landline every day for the past two weeks. I do not pick up as I have caller display but it is quite annoying as it rings at all different times. There should be a way of stopping these calls.

Caller claimed they were calling because my Beko washing machine warranty had expired. I don t have a Beko washing machine. I gave this incorrect information to a unwanted cold call last week (Indian caller, UK Preference, claiming they were doing a survey). They have obviously passed my details to this company.

The caller said she was from O2 and We were due for a free gift of Wireless Headphones as a security what was my place of birth. I found out that the fraudsters had chaned my password by going on the O2 website and requesting a 6 digit number and asking me to give it to them.. I don't thimk I have suffered losses . I obviously reset my password. The caller was an Indian female, this is not unusual as, Indian Call Centres are experts in fraud I have been involved in investigating Indian call centre.

Its about time the TPS in this country gained real power like the US, over there if a company calls after being told not, they have to pay a fixed penalty to the homeowner.
