SCAM Phoned a few minutes ago and I stupidly answered despite not recognising the number. A foreign sounding woman asked if she was speaking to ...my name.. but when I asked who was calling she put the phone down. Suggests a scam.

Think it’s a scammer on FB, has hacked into an account on there and pretending to be a widower living in Bedford. The phone is being used in the Preston area. I have blocked before he tries to extract money from me. He will not send current face photo with today’s date in his hand so I know it is a scammer. The FB profile hacked looks very American not Uk. They said they were calling from HMRC, however HMRC never calls mobile numbers. Asked for a "Mr. Raymond"; when informed he had the wrong number, he requested my name to add to their caller registry. I declined, and he tried to tell me something about investing. I ended the call early by saying I had stuff to do. Overall the guy on the other end was very respectful and polite, and had a very mild Indian accent, so I think he might've been legit. Of note, however, is that my number is a Canadian number.
