got this call from San Antonio, Texas, USA at quarter to 11 in the morning, 15th Aug 2015. Didn't answer, no message left. think its a scam

01794399253 called my landline on Thursday 13 July and a recorded message advised me that money had been transferred from my account and to key 1 to sort it. 01794 is a Romsey UK number as is my number so I assumed it was local. I did not continue with the call. It was the same as other messages that I have received recently mentioned Amazon. How do scammers phone from local numbers?
I do not wont to received anymore call from this number on my cell phone!!!

Just had a call from this number asking for Mrs my name I said no it s Miss. She said just a quick call today, she was Jenny calling from National Institute for the Blind...and I put the phone down. Agree with Sue no problem with them as such, but the fact I hadn t asked for contact from them.

0207 9245544 - this number is a scam!!! Called me twice, I didn't answer as didn't recognize the number. I then googled the number and it's some motability Volkswagen thing in London. I called them four times trying to find out why they called me - they are rude and refuse to tell me why they called me!!! Instead, they demanded my name and then started the sales pitch! I never contacted them and I'm not in London so have nothing to do with them! This is clearly a scam!!!
Back again, they phoned my mobile yesterday and today my landline. Local garage had my contact numbers 2 years ago when I bought a car. In the past has just been postal advertising. The number is in Runcorn so misrepresentation of fact! Answered the phone with what are you selling, told them not to phone again as I don t want to buy a car. Must be a call centre in Runcorn, annoyed that local garage has sold or is using contact details for reasons beyond the original sale!!!

Scam: pretending to be carphone warehouse.
SCAM-Was at work. Don’t know anyone in Rotherham so ended call and blocked immediately. & from look of feedback glad I did. I am getting scam e mail attempts daily. Trying to tempt me under differing guises either offering loyalty points or entering me in competitions . Most say from Curry’s but now they are piggy backing e mail contacts of mine masquerading as them and trying to get me to click on links of photos they sent. They get around the block facility. Text body reads: "We have been trying to contact you regarding your accident, we now have details of how much you are due, just reply CONFIRM and we will call you back". Texting back with CONFIRM (or anything) will probably just let them know your number is in use so they can sell it. Don t reply.
Rude, extremely aggressive, trying to frighten people into taking out insurance to cover funeral costs and 'protect their loved ones'. Despicable.
Just received a call from this number on my mobile. I answered and said "Hello?" whereupon the call was immediately disconnected. I don't recognise the number, but suspect some sort of scam or nefarious activity. Although the criminals mainly target my landline, some of them seem to have my mobile number.
