SCAM Automated voice saying they were HMRC phoning to advise that I was the subject of some fraudulent activity and advised me to press 1. They said that if I didn't press 1 and did not get connected, the Police would come to arrest me immediately.

Insurance. Very suspicious. The caller claimed to be calling about renewal of an insurance policy on my washing machine. He sounded convincing until he said he wanted to confirm my bank details. I asked him to tell me what details he had and he said he didn't have that information and wanted me to give them to him. Naturally, I refused to do this and he quickjy terminated the conversation. This is probably an attempted fraud.

When answering the call, a pre-recorded male voice told me that my NI number would be under investigation, because several fraudulent activities had been registered. It then urged me to press 1 for further information. I terminated the call immediately. However, this does not seem a legitimate phone number from which such a call would be made.
