Well this was interesting! 028 4067 1515 (Banbury) just rang, it is Saturday at 10:55am. I did a quick google while the phone was ringing and came up with the Anglers Rest pub in Banbridge. Weird (I have no connection to the area) but seemingly legit. When I picked up, the caller said he was calling from Currys/PCWorld with a cheap mobile phone offer. I said I don't need a new phone and he said thanks and ended the call. The whole "using a legit number" is hella sneaky!!

Supposedly from O2 UK - offering me a 40% reduction in call / contract costs. Foreign female / when I ask them to prove they’re O2 UK I receive official looking O2 UK texts with a code. I’m not convinced / so I hang up / block number / then check with O2 - await response.

I got an email from PayPal, saying I purchased a cell phone & that payment is now due. I called the number on the invoice from PayPal, a man with a thick indian accent answered & struggled to speak good English to explain himself. He asked me for the invoice number & said that a purchase was made IN MY NAME although my opening remarks were 'I don't have a PayPal account but I received an email requesting payment for a purchase' - when I asked him 'what's my name?' he hung up! Strange message from person named Lana, saying taking daughter to Aquarium this weekend and wanting to know if they were interested in coming. This number has been reported to o2 as spam.
