Fraud HMRC tax fraud scam, they will tell you there is a warrant out for your arrest unless you pay £495.50 over the phone straight away, if you dont pay they threaten to have you arrested for non payment of taxes, when you say you dont owe any tax, they then say its for unpaid council tax do not engage with them, hang up phone straight away.

Just received a call from an Indian sounding chap called Charles . Asked me to confirm if I was receiving a high volume of telemarketing calls, and that he could help. Gave me the 0845 number, and told me to call for a box to plug in to the phone for ?1 something per month. SCAM Claimed to be from BT Broadband and told me my internet router was sending error signals to them and that I wasn't getting the speed I should be. They give you a bit of blurb about internet speed and then ask you to turn on your laptop, they ask you to press 'Ctrl + Windows +R' then type: - 'Eventvwr' into the box. They then use screen that comes up to persuade you that you have a problem. Once they have you convinced, which is easily done if you are not tech savvy, the sting.. Your money!!!
