this number text me saying this is their new number and had lost contacts. They asked so send numbers of people we both knew. I stupidly thought it was my aunt Sue, and sent my mum, cousin and Nan s numbers. Called this number back & she claimed to be from HMRC who apparently have served me with two warrants around miscalculation of Tax. They apparently called at my home on two occasions during lockdown when I was home and not allowed to leave me house. She was very plausible, giving me a name, badge number and warrant ref numbers. This number rang today but hung up part way through the answerphone message. After reading comments here and elsewhere, I rang and asked for our number to be removed from their database. The guy I spoke to was happy to do this and also happy to tell me that the third party from whom they receive numbers is Communications Avenue. Looks like these are the people we should really be shutting down. A quick Googke shows that they re based in Newark.
