Woman calls claiming I have recently been the victim of a car accident which is a miracle as I don t drive. Hung up as soon as she said that but she first identified herself as being from Adept Consulting - I actually have a real client with the same business name which is why I carried on the call! I had a call from this number saying it's the police and my national insurance has been used for suspicious activities. They threatened me with arrest and then asked me for my name and my insurance number, When I said I wouldn't give it to them and would present myself to a precinct instead they hung up on me.

Really nasty, threatening scam from this number. The message said HMRC had a tax fraud case listed against my name and I should press 1 to connect to the HMRC investigating officer to discuss the case. It then went on to say that if I didn't I would be arrested for tax fraud - I knew it was not true but some people could be really scared and stressed by this horrible scam.
