I received an e-mail from amy pearce, however I was daft to respond. Spoke to a bloody american for 18 mins later then told they will be in touch within a week. Still waiting. Call cost me ?15 when I saw my bill last week.
How do BT allow such a number to be allocated for fraudulent purposes. Why does barclaycard not find out who these scammers are and with whatever part of government that can, prosecute the offenders?

SCAM - pretends to be from Microsoft saying computer has downloaded malicious software. Gets recipient to go to PC. Identifies PC/Mac by asking to describe keyboard. For mac uses Spotlight to launch console - didn’t run with it any further. Caller does know the name accociated with the phone number. Caller has strong asian accent with a regular uk name.
Only heard background chatter. Sounds like a call centre...Caller hanged up when answering machine came on and phone not picked up.
SCAM Said they were O2. Very convincing. Sent an OTP, like a fool, I gave it to them. By the time their call ended, and I got through to O2 (max 10 minutes), they’d already changed my email and postal addresses. O2 tell me the only time they will ask for the OTP is when a customer calls them. Looks like I stopped them in time, all details now changed, and security info changed, but be careful people. 17/12/2021 9:54AM I had a call from 07912630137 as a Bank automatic message which doesn't told me what bank is it. doesn't told me or ask me nothing about me. Just told me about some blocked telephone banking transaction for £600 to somewhere overseas them ask me to press 1 for more info. I haven't done nothing for couple of seconds and was automatically switched off.

SCAM / SPAM Pretending to be HM Revenue to get details and money saying taxes haven't been paid. Lies. I said I wasnt comfortable giving any details "for verification" as they had contacted me. When I said they should get in touch by sending me a letter, the person cut the phone. Trying to prey on innocent people who might fall for this.

They just phoned my elderly father-in-law on his land line and luckily my husband had just arrived at the house when they phoned. They told him that they were the National Crime Agency and that there had been fraud on his bank account. 15:29 19/7/16. Did not appear to know my name, address or location, as did not refer to any - so just cold call to landline. Claimed to be from BT security and that there was a problem with my router. I asked who are BT? (jut to wind him up) - the answer he gave was the only truth in his call. He wanted me to check and confirm some details on my router. I told him I did not believe what he said, I was not going to give him any information and that I was going to hang up - which I did.
